The Office of the Secretary General, 27th Republic Student Union Government (SUG), Ebonyi State University (EBSU), has extended warm wishes to Christian students of the university community on the observance of Ash Wednesday.
In a goodwill message signed by the SUG Secretary General, Chukwudi Egwu Ogbonna (CEO), students were encouraged to embrace the significance of the day as a moment of deep reflection, renewed hope, and spiritual growth.
Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of the Lenten season in the Christian calendar, is traditionally observed as a period of repentance, introspection, and commitment to positive transformation.
The Secretary General urged Christian students to allow the solemnity of the day to inspire meaningful self-examination and to strive toward making a positive impact within the university community and society at large.
He further prayed that the season brings renewed strength and that God grants the heartfelt desires of the faithful.
The message concluded with a call for all EBSU students, regardless of faith, to reflect on the values of discipline, hope, and responsibility that promote peaceful coexistence on campus.
