Ebonyi State University (EBSU), Abakaliki, has officially withdrawn a total of 66 undergraduate students from the Department of Medical Laboratory Science over poor academic performance.
According to the released withdrawal/probation list, the affected students failed to meet the required academic standards set by the university for progression in the programme.
Breakdown of Withdrawals:
100 Level (Year 1): 41 students
200 Level: 25 students
In addition to the withdrawals, the university also placed 10 students on academic probation due to unsatisfactory cumulative grade point averages (CGPA) and incomplete semester results.
Breakdown of Probation:
300 Level: 8 students
400 Level: 2 students
The probation status serves as a final academic warning, offering affected students an opportunity to improve their performance within a stipulated period or risk full withdrawal from the programme.
