The management of Ebonyi State University has directed students who received excess disbursements under the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) scheme to refund the overpaid amounts before the commencement of examinations.
According to information made available to THE CAMPUS FREQUENCY LTD through the Students’ Union Government (SUG) Public Relations Officer, affected students are required to report to the designated NELFUND Desk Office to obtain the official account details for repayment.
The directive states that all refunds must be completed prior to the start of examinations. Students who fail to comply may be barred from sitting for their examinations.
University management emphasized that the excess funds currently in the possession of some beneficiaries rightfully belong to other eligible students who may be experiencing financial difficulty in meeting their tuition obligations.
Students are therefore advised to verify their payment status promptly and comply with the repayment instruction to avoid academic consequences.
The measure, according to the information received, is aimed at ensuring fairness, accountability, and equitable distribution of financial assistance among qualified beneficiaries.
