The management of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI) has declared a lecture-free day for all 100 level students to enable their full participation in the university’s orientation programme for the 2025/2026 academic session.
This was disclosed in an official memo issued by the Office of the Registrar on Wednesday, February 5, 2026, and addressed to the university community.
According to the memo, the Vice-Chancellor approved that the orientation exercise for newly admitted students be held on Monday, February 9, 2026. Consequently, lectures for all 100 level students have been suspended for that day, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., to allow them attend the programme without academic distractions.
The university management emphasized that the orientation exercise is compulsory for all 100 level students, noting that attendance will be taken at the venue.
The directive was signed by the Registrar, T. Ifeanyi Igwe, Esq., and conveyed for strict compliance by all concerned.
The orientation programme is expected to formally introduce fresh students to university life, academic regulations, and institutional culture, as part of efforts to ensure a smooth transition into higher education at AE-FUNAI.
